Viewers who tuned in on July 1 for the latest edition of Only in Monroe were in for a bit of a surprise:

Stephen Colbert took home hosting duties for the entire episode of this Michigan public access show.

Taking the job very seriously, Colbert touched on issues affecting the town, which is located 45 minutes from Detroit, while making jokes about its founding and eventually bringing on its biggest guest of all-time.

He’s "a local Michigander who is making a name for himself in the competitive world of music" and his name is… EMINEM!

Colbert proceeded to ask Eminem numerous questions about his music, seemingly stunned that the rapper had a credible career.

At one point, Colbert asked about the use of “bad words” in his songs, to which Eminem replied that he has never cursed.

“You don’t have to do it. Watch your f—king mouths," he told other rappers who do go the foul language route.

With Colbert making his way back into the news in anticipation of his Late Show debut in September (note his response to the gay marriage verdict and also his take on Donald Trump), this is a must-watch video.

Eminem comes on around the 22-minute mark.
