Nicole Kidman has backed out of a film project that was to begin this month. Page Six is reporting that the actress made this decision based upon her pregnancy. She is married to country western musician Keith Urban.
The post World War II German drama, The Reader is being directed by Stephen Daldry and based on a book about a man’s life long sexual obsession for an older woman.
Kidman has suffered several miscarriages during her marriage to Tom Cruise, and is said to be scaling back her activities as a precaution. The Australian couple has denied rumors that they are expecting their first child together but recent photos show the actress wearing loose fitting tops. The couple had previously reported that they would love to have a child together. The actress has two adopted children, Isabella Cruise and Connor Cruise.
A reporter for The Daily Mail in Sydney, Australia asked Kidman point blank if she was expecting a child. She refused to answer his questions. Another source reportedly overheard a Vanity Fair editor say that they would be pushing up Nicole’s photo shoot for their annual Hollywood issue.
The actress had a bad year at the box office with three disappointing movie releases. The Invasion, Margot at the Wedding and The Golden Compass – none of which even recouped production costs.
The pregnancy watch continues. We expect that Kidman is holding off with news of her pregnancy state until she is further along. She may be taking pointers from Jennifer Lopez, who denied rumors for nearly the entire pregnancy.
