Could Dallas Cowboy quarterback Tony Romo possibly be as good at golf as he is at football? Well the answer is no. Romo played in the U.S. Open qualifying event yesterday in Dallas, Texas and just missed the cut coming in at nine over par. ESPN has a video of Romo saying:
I hadn’t played in a week or so, I played nine hole last week, and tried to get in game shape, but obviously that wasn’t enough. It comes and goes.”
I didn’t make the next round. You come out here and try to advance. I found a good rhythm on the back side, but it took too long to get started. I just haven’t been able to practice or prepare. I got a lot of football stuff going so that’s part of it.”
One thing the football great forgot to mention is that his girlfriend Jessica Simpson is attached at his hip and it is hard to swing the club without hitting her. Better luck next year Tony!
