Gerry Boyle, brother of singing sensation Susan Boyle, told GMTV on Friday that his sister had been released from the London Clinic where she had been treated for a severe panic attack. The runner-up on the reality show Britain’s Got Talent was hospitalized on Sunday, after losing out to dance group Diversity.
Many were characterizing her condition as a mental breakdown but judges Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan were quick to indicate that she was simply experiencing a reaction to the overwhelming nature of her new-found fame. Cowell has pledged to help Boyle with her career, to ensure that she gets off to the right start.
