Kate Gosselin is all revved up and has set her sights on winning the mirror-ball trophy on Season 10 of Dancing with the Stars. The former non-dancer is paired up with pro partner Tony Dovolani, who apparently has his work cut out for him to bring her mission to fruition.
There appears to be only one little stumbling block that could get in the way for Kate. She said, “I do want to win. It’s just that the dancing part is getting in the way of winning. In my mind, I’m winning. In my actions, not so much.”
As the latest People magazine cover suggests, Kate is defending her choice to compete when she has eight children at home. She actually had a dance studio built in the lower level of her home so that she and her pro partner can practice all week in Wernersville, Pennsylvania before flying back to L.A. for show taping.
Tony and Kate managed to break away from the dance studio long enough to hit a red carpet affair at Lincoln Center in nearby NYC one evening last week – see pics here.
Quite frankly, the longer Gosselin stays on the show, the more money she will make. In previous seasons, contestants who made it to the finals earned $365,000…not a bad pay day for a single mom who is supporting a whole bunch of kids.
Details of Season 8 winner Shawn Johnson‘s contract revealed that she was guaranteed $125,000 with an additional $10,000 per week if she survived weeks 3 and 4. The ante is raised for weeks 5, 6, and 7 with a payment of $20,000 per week. Weeks 8 and 9 are worth $30,000 each. Weeks 10 and 11 are worth $50,000 each. Celeb contestants and their partners are required to train a minimum of 20 hours per week and must sign a liability waiver to protect the show from injury claims.
The new season, featuring brand new co-host Brooke Burke, begins on March 22 on ABC.
