Sarah Ferguson admitted to having a very bad day Sunday, despite the fact that she was being honored in Hollywood for her philanthropic achievements. She managed to put on her game face despite the scandal that has rocked her world. The event was the Variety Children’s Charity 2010 Hollywood World Conference.

Fergie flew to California on Sunday to receive the Catherine Variety Sheridan award for her work with underprivileged and disabled children.
After avoiding the red carpet and being ushered in the back door by security, she was seated at the head table alongside Simon Cowell and his fiancee Mezhgan Hussainy. Hear what he had to say about the Royal scandal in the video below.
When the Duchess of York stood at the podium to accept her award, she started by saying: “Thank you all so very much. When I got on that flight today I thought phew, I’ve had a heavy day. I learned today about making a difference. Most importantly I learned I hate grown-ups and I love children.”
She looked red eyed and and stunned when she arrived at LAX. The 50-year-old wore no makeup and was quickly ushered to a waiting Mercedes town car.
