Lady Gaga has a new music video for her current single “Alejandro”. The nearly 9-minute video debuted on Tuesday, June 8, 2010. The talented songstress described it to Larry King as having a “homoerotic military theme”.

The newly released video was directed by photographer Steven Klein. He revealed: “The process was to express Lady Gaga’s desire to reveal her heart and bear her soul.”

Gaga describes it as “a celebration and an admiration of gay love — it confesses my envy of the courage and bravery they require to be together.”

There are several controversial uses of religious imagery. Lady G dons a rubber nun’s habit while clutching rosary beads that she puts into her mouth, with the suggestion that she has swallowed them.

Katy Perry wasn’t impressed with Lady G’s new video. On Twitter this afternoon she said, “Using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke.” Ouch!
