There is a legal battle brewing over the remains of legendary actor Marlon Brando.
A portion of Brando’s ashes are allegedly in the possession of a woman named Donna Lopez Geon who dated Brando’s son Christian until his death in 2008.
Christian’s mother Anna Kashfi, who divorced Marlon in 1959, wants the remains returned to the Brando family. Kashfi is the executor of Christian’s estate and has filed legal papers claiming Donna refuses to return the ashes.
In the documents, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Anna states that Donna also took Christian’s “St. Christopher’s medal,” and she is seeking the court’s help in getting the items returned.
TMZ spoke to Donna, who said, “Christian wasn’t close with his family and wouldn’t have wanted his mother or anyone else to have his property when he died.”
According to Donna, she is no longer in possession of the ashes, “When I found out they were coming after the property, I took some of the ashes I have and spread them in Franklin Canyon … Marlon loved that place.”
Some of Brando’s ashes have already been spread in Tahiti and Death Valley.
