Sam Shields, a 23-year-old rookie cornerback for the Green Bay Packers, got some serious ink last week at Ultimate Designz in Miami.

The NFLer, who played college ball in Miami, brought in his Superbowl XLV ring with the intention of having a likeness permanently inked on his body.

Tattoo artist Sergio Garcia took three hours to sketch out a design plan and an additional two hours to complete the work on Shields’ neck.

On February 6, 2011 Shields had 2 tackles in the Packers victory over the Steelers. He suffered a shoulder injury late in the second quarter and saw limited play time in the second half.

The Green Bay Packers received their mega-bling during a Lambeau Field ceremony on June 18 – close up photos here.
