David Pollock, who starred as Rudi Stein in all three “Bad News Bears” movies, is running for Congress.

The 50-year-old former child star will run as a Democrat in the new 26th Congressional district in California.

Pollock received a BS in Management from the Pepperdine School of Business and Management in 1986 and an MBA from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLO in 1992. He worked for Rocketdyne for 18 years and has been an elected official in Moorpark, California for 17 years, serving on both the City Council and Board of Education, serving one year as president of the California School Boards Association.

Pollock hopes to use his experience in the private and public sectors to work for constructive solutions to national issues.

“There’s too much rigid ideology in Washington, D.C.,” Pollock says. “There is a lack of compromise, and compromise is the very basis of our democracy.”

So what path would Pollock’s “Bad News Bears” character pursue? “Well, clearly Rudi wasn’t destined to be a professional baseball player,” says Pollock. “He probably became an attorney specializing in children’s sports injuries.”
