Stand-up comedian Joel McHale, known for poking fun at celebrities on his E! show The Soup, has revealed that while most stars are fair game, there are certain celebrities that are off limits.
“I know the Kardashians don’t like me, reality stars without exception have come up to me and have said, ‘Thank you for making fun of me.’ We made so much fun of Jake Pavelka, and he responded by coming on the show. With the Kardashians, we’re not allowed to say they have a sex tape anymore because the network flips out.”
Because The Soup and Keeping Up With the Kardashians both air on E!, the network most definitely has a say.
Unfortunately for the jokster, it’s definitely a case of bad timing to be banned from talking about the Kardashian family. Kim Kardashian just married NBA player Kris Humphries and talk show hosts are having a field day.
McHale listed Tyra Banks as another celebrity who wasn’t too fond of him but she eventually got over it.
He isn’t worried about a shortage of material because there are lots of people and shows to rake over the coals. McHale admits, “Dancing with the Stars is the show that keeps on giving. I also love Hoarders and My Strange Addictions. I like all the weird shows.”
