A British Columbia coroner confirmed that ‘Glee’ actor Cory Monteith died of a mixed drug toxicity of heroin and alcohol.
The preliminary report stated, “It should be noted that at this point there is no evidence to suggest Mr. Montheith’s death was anything other than a most-tragic accident.”
“The BC Coroners Service will not be providing any further details or responding to inquiries concerning the circumstances of Mr. Monteith’s death until the full investigation is concluded.”
Vancouver Police media officer Brian Montague revealed during a press conference, “There were indications in the room that this was a drug overdose. We’re not providing exactly what we found at the scene. Anything that was found at the scene would be evidence.”
The officer did acknowledge that the actor had been out with three people, a man and two women, the night before he died and they have been “cooperative.”
Actress Lea Michele, his co-star and girlfriend, released this statement through her rep: “Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she’s received from family, friends, and fans. Since Cory’s passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them… They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory’s family.”
