Juan Pablo Galavis, who appeared on the latest installment of ‘The Bachelorette,’ landed his own reality gig on season 18 of ‘The Bachelor.’

The father of a 4-year-old daughter, Camila, didn’t fare very well with ‘Bachelorette’ Desiree Hartsock, who sent him packing during episode six of season nine.

Show host Chris Harrison revealed last night that Galavis would be the next ‘Bachelor.’ The big announcement came during the ‘After the Final Rose’ special following the ‘Bachelorette’ finale.

Season 18 of ‘The Bachelor’ will premiere on ABC in January 2014.

He told the audience, “In the history of this show, no guy has made a greater impact with less screen time than our soccer-playing single dad.”

Des reportedly got tons of hate mail after she rejected Galavis – seen below in the third row with the light blue open collar shirt.

Juan Pablo, 32, said, “It’s a great responsibility, because I’m going to find, hopefully, the person who’s going to be with me and my daughter.”

The American born former soccer pro spent the majority of his childhood in Venezuela but returned to the U.S. to play collegiate soccer at Roberts Wesleyan College in New York before embarking on a seven year pro career with teams in South America and Europe. He hung up his spikes in 2009 to focus his full attention on his only child.

His plan for the future involves “settling down and having a wife and two more kids.”
