During Tuesday’s world premiere of the film ‘One Direction: This Is Us’ in London, Simon Cowell chatted it up with the BBC about his new status as a baby daddy.
The 53-year-old business mogul acknowledged, “Things are changing in my life right now, for the better. I’m proud to be a dad.”
He and his married neighbor, Lauren Silverman, have been taking things slowly while her divorce plays out. He wouldn’t elaborate, other than to say that his 36-year-old love interest and baby mama is “a very special girl.”
Cowell has always shunned the prospect of fatherhood, but now that his status is about to change, he is pleasantly surprised to admit, “Now I know I feel good about it.”
Simon’s former pal Andrew Silverman reportedly reached an amicable divorce settlement with his estranged wife last week. He told reporters, “My priority was resolving this quickly for the sake of our son.” Their child, Adam, is 7.
Lauren Silverman is reportedly 12 weeks pregnant. By our calculations, she and Simon will be welcoming their love child in February 2014.
