Cher is currently promoting her 26th solo album ‘Closer to the Truth,’ an amazing feat at the age of 67.
She chatted it up with PEOPLE during an event at Tao Downtown, just part of a whirlwind week in New York City that included a guest spot on Late Night with David Letterman.
She joked, “I kill myself! I think I’m some freak of nature. I’m starting to believe it myself.”
The singer will embark on a 49-city Dressed to Kill tour from March 22 to July 11, 2014. She admits that the grind of launching an album and pulling a tour act together is a really big deal.
Cher quipped, “I have been up since four f––g thirty in the morning! I mean a girl has to get up later than that!”
The ‘Goddess of Pop’ became prominent in 1965 as one-half of the husband-wife act Sonny & Cher. From there she established herself as a solo act with ‘Bang Bang,’ ‘Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves and ‘Half Breed.’
No one-trick-pony, Cher won a Best Actress Academy Award for the 1988 film ‘Moonstruck.’
