90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? viewers had mixed feelings as they watched an enraged Ashley dial 911 on Jay.
He was no longer in the house.
And her behavior in order to drive him out of her home went overboard — alarmingly so.
While fans sympathize with her given that he had repeatedly cheated on her and then lied to her at every opportunity, many were upset with her actions.
Now, with a cooler head, nearly seven months after that scene was filmed, Ashley is acknowledging that she went too far.

It started with Ashley’s quest for the truth
Ashley asked Jay’s apparent only friends, the guys at the barbershop, i Jay had been sticking his tattoo needle in other girls, so to speak.
She did not like the answer
Not only had Jay cheated, she learned that he had boned a girl AT the barbershop, taking her into the bathroom and banging her. The disrespect to the establishment got him roughed up by the owner.
She wanted Jay gone
Ashley confirmed with the girl that Jay had banged her — not merely gotten a BJ from her, as he had claimed — and furiously packed up his belongings with the help of a friend.
When Jay barged into her house, she gave him a piece of her mind
“You’re a f–king piece of s–t, I hope you know that,” Ashley told him.
She confronted him with the truth
In contrast to his claim about oral sex, the girl had told Ashley that the two of them did “pretty much anything that you could think of” in that bathroom.
Jay tried to get technical about his lie
“I didn’t say she just sucked my d–k,†he argued. “I said she offered, and then everything happened.”
Weaseling and wordplay did not go his way
“You’re full of s–t, you’re f–king disgusting, you’re full of s–t so stop f–king lying. You’re a piece of f–king s–t,” Ashley said. “That’s what you are. I hope you know that.”
Her words became pretty graphic
“I hope your d–k f–king shrivels off and you f–king rot in hell and f–kng die,” Ashley raged. “That’s what I f–king hope happens to you, you son of a f–king bitch”
She gave him the boot
Take your s–t and get the f–k out of my house,†Ashley demanded. “Way to use someone for a green card.”
She really let him have it
“It’s funny you have nothing to say now. But you were fine and f–king dandy putting your d–k in some f–king disgusting bitch in the f–king public bathroom,” Ashley accused, which is very unfair to the girl in question. “What do you have to say for yourself? Are you f–king proud?”
Unfortunately, Jay tried to clap back
“Whose fault is that?” he asked Ashley. Notably, this would not be the last time that he would try to claim that Ashley was somehow the bad guy in their marriage or, amazingly, somehow at fault for his cheating. Since Jay has never gone into specifics, it’s unclear of what these vague hints are trying to do aside from irritate Ashley.
And she was VERY irritated
“What the f–k do you mean whose fault is it?†she demanded to know, getting all up in Jay’s face. “Is it my fault? Is it my f–king fault?”
Here’s where things got worse
Ashley began to shove Jay in an attempt to drive him physically from her home. That is not okay, no matter how mad Ashley was. All the while, she demanded that he “Get your f–king ass out of my house!”
Jay finally went out into the cold
Surrounded by bags of his belongings, he did confess to the full extent of his cheating with that one girl, speaking to 90 Day Fiance’s cameras.
Ashley heard
Enraged, though prevented from going outside by the intervention of her friend (thank you, Ashley’s friend), she instead dialed 911 on Jay and told the police that she had just had a confrontation with Jay. Folks, no matter Ashley’s intentions or feelings at the time, calling the police on him put his life in danger. That is not proportionate because Ashley was not in danger from him.
Ashley regrets that, now
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Ashley admits: “Yes, it gets heated. Yes, I regret what happens.”
She offers an explanation.
“But when you’re in the heat of the moment, and feel your whole world crumbling down around you, sometimes you make poor decisions,” Ashley explains.
And one final note:
“I’m human,” Ashley reminds her followers. While not everyone experiences anger or outrage to the degree that Ashley clearly does and while hopefully most people don’t respond to their feelings or express them by insulting third parties who did nothing wrong or by appearing to shove or even strike their spouses or by calling the police when it’s not necessary, that’s a fair point.
It’s easy to understand why she’s upset
Ashley was clearly wronged. Jay cheated on her right after their wedding. He cheated again after she gave him another chance. He probably cheated before their wedding, even though she allegedly didn’t care.
Almost* no one is defending Jay
Two groups of people defend his cheating. One group are people who blame Ashley for dating a younger man, claiming that she should have known better — and some of those folks are not-so-thinly veiling their racism. The other group is just fans who are incredibly thirsty for Jay and want to excuse his behavior because they can’t separate right and wrong from their fog of horniness.
You know what’s REALLY weird?
Ashley and Jay reconciled after this. In the second half of January, she withdrew her divorce filing and she and Jay were together again.
It didn’t last
Not even three months later, the two of them broke up AGAIN. They haven’t reconciled yet and we hope that they do not. It sounds like Jay was once again cheating (and more, possibly), which prompted the April breakup.
It’s clear why Ashley was so upset
She loved Jay. On some level, she still does love him. That’s why his actions hurt her so much.
That said …
Emotions are not an excuse for bad actions, whether it’s shoving someone out of your home or throwing a fire extinguisher through someone’s window. And yes, Ashley did that second thing in late May. Oh, Ashley.
We hope that she’s in a better state of mind these days
Ashley’s health battles, her rise to reality stardom, and her cheating husband have clearly taken a toll on her mental and emotional health. We hope that she’s doing a lot of self-care.
