Part of it was because he was back with Taylor Selfridge.
But mostly, people have developed this dream that he and baby mama Cheyenne Floyd will get together.
Now, finally, Cheyenne has publicly responded to Cory’s new relationship.
And she has some news of her own. …
Sometimes, things just don’t work out
They boned a few times and made a baby, but despite the wishes of a lot of fans and viewers, they’re just not clicking as a couple in the same way as they are as co-parents.
Cory unveiled his new relationship last week
He and Taylor Selfridge went on a romantic vacation. He did have to beg fans to stop hating his relationship and let him live his life.
Fans were pissed, but Cheyenne?
Speaking to Us Weekly, Cheyenne says that she’s happy for Cory.
And that’s not all
“”I’ve got some news of my own in that department,” Cheyenne teases.
What news is that?
“I’m dating someone,” Cheyenne reveals. “And am super happy with them.”
Why are things so hush-hush?
“I don’t want to reveal any details about them right now,” Cheyenne explains. “As we’re enjoying keeping things private.”
Her romance won’t stay secret forever
“When the time is right,” Cheyenne promises. “I will tell.”
How curious!
Notably, she refers to her new significant other with gender-neutral pronouns. A lot of people say them out of habit or unconsciously, but some wonder if Cheyenne is making a conscious choice here. We’ll find out eventually, we suppose.

“But know I’m happy and moving on with my life in a positive direction,” Cheyenne assures her fans.

“Things are working out as they should,” Cheyenne affirms. “And I’m good with that.”

“I have to do what I have to do,” he explains to Us Weekly. “And Taylor is the person who makes me happy.”
He has a message for his outraged followers
“If y’all really want to see me happy,” he tells his fans. “You’ll support me no matter what.”
He then sings Cheyenne’s praises
Cory says that she is “a great person, a fabulous mother, and I’ll always have some love for Cheyenne.â€Â
But don’t get your hopes up, shippers
“I’m not in love with Cheyenne,” Cory clarifies for the bajillionth time.
Taylor is the one who makes him happy
True, it didn’t work out in the past, but he’s giving things another shot and they’ve gotten serious.
And he doesn’t take being a father lightly
Taylor, Cory promises is “the only female I’ve ever brought around Ryder.” It is always super weird to hear men describe women as “females” as if they were identifying lizards in the wild, but whatever.
Cory promises to still co-parent
He understands that some people harbor a fantasy that he and Cheyenne will fall in love because of theri baby. But this is real life, not a poorly written television series with problematic messaging. Just because you made a kid together doesn’t mean that you’re soul mates.
But there’s bad news
Over the weekend, on February 23, Cheyenne revealed that Ryder was very sick.
Ryder has a condition
VLCAD is a congenital condition that prevents the sweet little girl from being able to break down certain fats
Cheyenne explained how serious it was
“It has been some of our longest nights together,” Cheyenne admits. “And all I can do is pray.”
Ryder is her whole world
“Situations like these always make you snap back into reality,” Cheyenne notes. “And puts so many things into perspective.”
Cory took notice, too
As soon as he learned that his baby was sick, he made arrangements to rush to be by little Ryder.
