New Jersey police officers found a man under the bed of a Spotswood, New Jersey, home. The problem is it wasn’t his bed or home.
Jason Hubbard had been hiding under the victim’s guest bed for three days before the owner found him.
According to police, while the homeowner was taking out the trash, Hubbard sneaked into the home. He took residence under the bed in the spare room so he could charge his four cell phones.
Hubbard accidentally made a noise, which prompted the owner to look under the bed.
The police were called and the cell phone charging burglar was booked on burglary, criminal trespass, and theft of services for using the power outlet.
Hubbard went to jail for the incident in May. He is still in custody at the Middlesex County jail.
Though the event happened months ago, it is only now becoming public because Spotswood police release records every six months.
