It’s only been six months since Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds welcomed their first child, but sources say the new parents are finding the stress of family life too much to bear and have been spending less and less time together as a result.
Radar Online is reporting that Lively and Reynolds haven’t been seen together since late February. Sources say a combination of hectic work schedules and the stresses of parenting have driven a wedge between the actors.
“They’ve completely drifted apart,” says one insider “They’re both focused on their careers, and have no time for each other.”
Different sources have offered varied explanations for the couple’s rough patch:
Some say Reynolds is jealous of Lively’s career success, as her Age of Adaline trounced his recent The Woman in Gold at the box office.
We don’t quit buy that explanation, as 1. Age of Adaline wasn’t exactly a smash hit, and 2. Reynolds was previously married to Scarlett Johansson. Clearly, he’s alright with his wife being the main breadwinner.
Another insider claims that the real problem is Reynolds’ infidelity. That seems like a more likely explanation, as Blake has joked about Ryan’s “wandering eye” in the past.
Whatever the case, we hope these two can work it out, if only for the sake of sweet baby James – their six-month-old daughter.
Oddly, news of the Lively-Reynolds split comes just one day after we learned that Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham broke up with Simon Saran. We guess it’s just a bad week for guys named after wraps. We’ll show ourselves out.
