Nick Swisher was not in the lineup last night for his team’s game against the Detroit Tigers, but the first baseman had a solid excuse:
Wife JoAnna Garcia gave birth yesterday to a baby girl!
The actress announced via Twitter in November that she and her baseball playing husband were expecting their first child.
Said an excited Swisher to Yahoo on May 12:
“I’ve been cruising along. I’ve got a beautiful wife, she’s my best friend, I’ve got a great job and a beautiful home, and now it’s time to be a dad… I want [my daughter] to be exactly like my wife.”
AWWW! So sweet!
No word yet on the name or measurements of the child, but she’s clearly entering into a loving family. We wish them the best!
