Joe Giudice has broken his silence.
The former Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member has finally addressed his ex-wife’s engagement, speaking to Celebuzz about Teresa Giudice agreeing to marry Luis Ruelas.
As you can see below, Joe is at least claiming to be happy for his former spouse.
But he’s also noting something a tad bit unusual about her relationship.
"I’m happy for Teresa and Louie, I give them my blessings," Joe told this outlet late last week, pointing out the following along with his well wishes:
"I think they moved a bit quick into this romance, but I’m glad she found her true love and wish them all the best."
Joe was married to Teresa for over 20 years and shares four daughters with the polarizing Bravo personality: Gia, 20, Gabriella, 17, Milania, 15, and Audriana, 12.
The pair split in late 2019 after both halves spent time in jail for committing bankruptcy fraud; Joe then got deported for his role in this financial scam.
Teresa then went public with Ruelas in November 2020, two months after finalizing her divorce from Joe.
At the time, Giudice wrote simply on Facebook: "Excited to reveal my new boyfriend."
We later learned that Ruelas is a businessman… a fellow New Jersey resident… and a father of two.
He proposed to Teresa in Greece last week, utilizing a fireworks display and going all out, sources said of the romantic moment.
"I spent my entire life dreaming of you…everyday without even knowing who you were," Ruelas wrote on Instagram, commemorating the couple’s engagement.
"From the moment our eyes locked and voices connected on Bay boulevard at the Jersey shore, we began our journey understanding each other’s paths and learning to appreciate how we had to go thru everything we did in our lives just to get to this point.
"These have been the most defining moments of my life and I am eternally grateful to share them with you.
"This is just the beginning of the rest of our lives."
As for why Teresa and Luis got engaged after less than a year of dating?
There were rumblings over the summer that Giudice might get fired by Bravo because her storylines have grown stale.
What a perfect way to spice things up then, right?
To get engaged and plan a wedding and provide producers with lots of new material?
Teresa and Luis sound pretty sure of their feelings, however.
When Rules made his Bravo debut during the season 11 finale in May, the two didn’t hold back in any way whatsoever.
"I absolutely did not expect to meet you, and I really thought I’d probably be alone for like, the next 10 years," Ruelas said while enjoying a dinner date with Teresa, later adding:
"You’re literally like, a dream come true."
He then declared Teresa not only the love of his life, but also his best friend and soul mate on Instagram a few days ago.
"I promise to always love you every second of every day and always be there for you and your 4 beautiful daughters," he wrote.
"I devote myself and my purpose in life to our goals and dreams. I am so grateful to walk this life with you not alone but together hand in hand until we are old."
The groom-to-be concluded his lovely message:
"I Love you baby."
