Colin Jost may write jokes for a living, but the Saturday Night Live star is apparently dead serious about at least one thing in his life:
His love and affection for Scarlett Johansson.
And he reportedly proved it in a very romantic manner over the weekend: By asking the actress to marry him!
And Marcel Pariseau, the publicist for Johansson, confirmed to The Associated Press on Sunday that his client said yes!!!!
How exciting, right?!?
(Pariseau added that no date has been set for the couple’s wedding.)
Johansson was previously married to Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2011 and then to Romain Dauriac in 2014, splitting three years later after giving birth to his daughter in 2013.
Rumors of Jost and Johansson as an item first surfaced back in July of 2017, but the stars were mostly just considered to be a fling at the time.
For an actress who stars in the highest-grossing movie franchise of all-time and a writer who is one of the folks in charge of an iconic sketch show… they actually kept their romance mostly on the Down Low.
But Johansoon and Jost were all smiles (and all over each other!) at the recent Avengers: Endgame premiere.
"Scarlett says he is different than many of the men she has been with," one insider previously told E! News, adding:
"She is pretty picky who she goes out with even if it’s just dating. They share many similarities together."
Jost, for his part, almost never talked about Johansson by name. (Dude probably didn’t want to jink it! Look at her!)
But he did tell Entertainment Tonight in September 2019 that his girlfriend is “pretty cool, adding at the time:
“It’s hard to have a lot of complaints, she’s pretty awesome. I’m very happy. I feel very lucky.”
The pair made its first public appearance as a couple at the 2017 American Museum of Natural History Museum Gala — and they haven’t looked back since!
“Colin is still head over heels for Scarlett,” another insider close to Jost told Us Weekly about the Weekend Update co-host.
“He thinks she is incredible, kind, beautiful. He is beyond doting to her and loves showing her off when they’re out.”
This same source also said “Colin is close to Scarlett’s daughter, and they have a lot of date nights in together as a family."
How sweet!
