Kim Kardashian Claps Back at Trolls: Suck It! I'm a Lawyer!

As you've probably heard by now, Kim Kardashian wants to become a lawyer.

And believe it or not, it seems she's already well on her way to doing exactly that.

Kim is taking a non-traditional path to her new career -- interning with a law firm rather than pursuing a degree.

Partially for that reason, she's taken flak from critics who seem to believe this is some sort of publicity stunt.

Earlier this week, however, Kim took to Instagram to set the record straight.

Alongside the photo above, she posted a lengthy message reminding fans and haters alike that she's taking a perfectly legit path toward licensure -- and she's busting her ass every step of the way:

“Last year I registered with the California State Bar to study law,” Kim wrote.

“For the next 4 years, a minimum of 18 hours a week is required, I will take written and multiple choice tests monthly.”

She went on to detail just how far she's come in the process, as well as what comes next in her long legal journey:

"As my first year is almost coming to an end I am preparing for the baby bar, a mini version of the bar, which is required when studying law this way," she continued.

"I’ve seen some comments from people who are saying it’s my privilege or my money that got me here, but that’s not the case."

From there, Kim detailed an encounter with a troll -- and offered some inspiration to others who may be considering a career change:

"One person actually said I should 'stay in my lane,'" Kim wrote.

"I want people to understand that there is nothing that should limit your pursuit of your dreams, and the accomplishment of new goals. You can create your own lanes, just as I am.

"The state bar doesn’t care who you are."

Kim went on to explain that while she did not finish college, she did meet the necessary credit requirement to "read the law" in California.

(The state requires 60 credits; Kim obtained 75.)

Kim then made a very strong case for how serious she truly is about this process:

"For anyone assuming this is the easy way out, it’s not. My weekends are spent away from my kids while I read and study," she wrote.

"I work all day, put my kids to bed and spend my nights studying. There are times I feel overwhelmed and when I feel like I can’t do it but I get the pep talks I need from the people around me supporting me.

"I changed my number last year and disconnected from everyone because I have made this strict commitment to follow a dream of mine - It’s never too late to follow your dreams."

From there, Kim thanked her mentors, including CNN personality Van Jones.

"This week I have a big torts essay due on negligence. Wish me luck," she concluded.

On behalf of all those who love a good underdog story and enjoy watching haters eat their words, we wish Kim all the luck in the world.
