Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin Indicted in Wide-Ranging College Bribery Scheme

Talk about some shameless behavior!

We can't believe Felicity Huffman just acted like a really desperate housewife!

We guess Lori Loughlin had no interest in living in an actual full house!

Hilarious and totally original puns aside, the aforementioned actresses are actually in major trouble with the law.

For a rather unexpected reason.

Huffman and Loughlin are among 50 people who have been charged in a massive, nationwide bribery scam that involved paying individuals to get their children into elite universities across the country.

According to court documents that have been made public, these two stars and many others allegedly paid significant bribes - as much as $6 MILLION in total - to get their kids into various schools, including Yale, Stanford, Georgetown and the University of Southern California.

Huffman is cited in a section of the indictment below, as the paper illustrated how she and husband William H. Macy allegedly pretended to give $15,000 charity...

... when this money actually went instead to a man in California who used it to pay off SAT proctors to doctor Huffman's daughter's exam score.

Her score ended up being listed as 1420, 400 points higher than she earned on her PSAT.

How crazy is that?!?

For the record, Macy is listed in this section merely as Huffman's "spouse" because he likely is not part of the indictment.

This would indicate that Huffman was the half of this famous couple in charge of this sceme.

The charges include conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud.

Huffman has been arrested and, as of this writing, is in custody. She will be released on a signature bond, which basically is a promise to appear in court.

Overall, this wide-ranging scam was reportedly uncovered after authorities discovered a California businessman who ran an operation that helped students get into the college of their choice.

Authorities say parents would pay this man a predetermined amount, which he would funnel to an SAT or ACT administrator or a college athletic coach.

In one instance, for example, the Yale women's soccer coach was allegedly paid $1.2 million to claim an aspiring student was a soccer recruit -- when, in fact, this simply was not the case.

As for Loughlin?

She and husband Mossimo Giannulli, the founder of Mossimo clothing, allegedly paid $500,000 to have their two daughters designated as recruits for the crew team at USC ... despite the fact they did not actually participate in crew.

However, federal agent say Mossimo sent action photos of their daughters on rowing machines.

In this instance, Mossimo was also charged in the indictment.

Federal agents say they have emails from Loughlin that prove her role in this scheme.

They say they have ecorded telephone calls with Huffman and a cooperating witness to prove her role in this scheme.

Here is a photo of Loughlin and her daughter, Olivia:

The indictment was filed by the United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts.

It actually makes a point of saying most of the kids involved had no idea their parents went to these illegal lengths.

Huffman most recently appeared on Season 2 of Epix’s Get Shorty; she’ll next be seen in Ava DuVernay’s Netflix miniseries When They See Us, which drops May 31.

She's likely best known for her long-time role on Desperate Housewives.

Loughlin currently stars on Hallmark Channel’s When Calls the Heart, which is airing its sixth season on Sundays at 8 pm.

She also recurs on Fuller House.

Neither actress nor anyone from their team has commented on this scandal just yet.
