The Spears family is in a crisis.
Britney Spears has postponed her Vegas residency because of her father's life-threatening health condition.
Now, Jamie Lynn Spears is thanking fans for their kind words, their prayers, and for their compassion.
"Thank you to everyone who reached out to our family," Jamie Lynn wrote on her Instagram Stories over the weekend.
"And," the mother-of-two continued, she thanked fans and followers "for all of your prayers."
"All of you have been there for us through so much," Jamie Lynn acknowledged.
"And we truly appreciate each of you!!" she affirmed.
Jamie Lynn concluded: "Love y'all bunches!"
As we reported on Friday, Jamie Spears, father of Britney and Jamie Lynn, suffered a recent medical crisis.
Just two months ago, he nearly died, and had to be rushed to the hospital.
His colon had spontaneously ruptured.
He was admitted into surgery.
This was followed by 28 days in the hospital for a long and complicated post-op.
The human digestive system is long, complicated, and delicate. Any time that it ruptures, the rest of the body risks sepsis.
A spontaneous rupture like this is terrifying -- for Jamie himself and for all of those who love him.
On Friday, it was with a heavy heart that Britney broke the news.
"I don’t even know where to start with this," Britney wrote on Instagram. "Because this is so tough for me to say."
"I will not be performing my new show Domination," she revealed.
"I’ve been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year," Britney continued. ":So doing this breaks my heart."
"However," she continued. "It’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make."
"A couple of months ago," Britney explained. "My father was hospitalized and almost died."
"We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive," Britney affirmed. "But he still has a long road ahead of him."
She continued: "I had to make the difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time."
"I hope you all can understand," Britney expressed.
Of course. Any true Britney fan knows that she needs this time with her family. They're in a crisis.
"More information on ticket refunds is available on britneyspears.com," she shared.
It must be odd to deal with practical concerns like ticket refunds when you're worried about your loved ones.
Britney made it clear that the well wishes of fans were very welcome.
"I appreciate your prayers and support for my family during this time," Britney wrote.
She concluded: "Thank you, and love you all… always."
Her younger sister, Jamie Lynn, shared that post.
The entire Spears family is holding their breath right now as they deal with this health crisis.
It sounds like Jamie isn't out of the proverbial woods.
Of course everyone wants to spend more time with him, and to be nearby should anything happen as he continues to recover.
We wish him a speedy recovery, and we hope that all of Britney's fans are understanding.
