Honey, he's good!
Andy Grammer announced during a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest on Monday that he's joining the cast of Dancing with the Stars this fall.
But the singer, who joins such D-Listers as Paula Deen and Bindi Irwin on Season 21 of the ABC competition, then made it clear that his inclusion is especially personal.
Taking to Facebook, Grammer wrote that his late mother's eyes "would light up" any time she saw him dance, going on to explain that this will be a way for him to feel "connected" to his mother.
"This one is for you mom," Grammer wrote.
"I don't know how to dance, but I'm pretty sure that wherever you are it's going to make you very happy to see me try. I miss you, I love you, and I will be stretching my hammies to make you proud."
Grammer appeared last year on Dancing with the Stars to sing a rendition of his hit "Honey, I'm Good."
Lest anyone think he's doing this for purely sentimental reasons, however, he did conclude his Facebook post with two words of warning for all competitors:
The full cast of Dancing with the Stars will be announced on Wednesday, September 2 on Good Morning America.
