There was talk of immigration reform and entitlement programs. There was back-and-forth over gay marriage, ISIS and the economy.
But with the first Republican debate for President now in the rear-view mirror, there's only one thing most viewers want to talk about: How Donald Trump revived his feud with Rosie O'Donnell via the following response...
It started with Fox News moderator Megyn Kelly grilling Trump over his numerous disparaging remarks about the opposite sex.
"You’ve called women fat pigs, dogs, slobs, disgusting animals," Kelly said, adding that Trump's "Twitter account has several..." before getting cut off.
“Only Rosie O’Donnell," Trump replied in regard to the only woman with whom he claims to have a real beef.
He received a rousing ovation for this joke.
Trump and O’Donnell’s feud goes way back to 2006 after Rosie criticized Trump for keeping Tara Conner as Miss USA despite a handful of lewd photos of her that went viral.
In response, Trump referred to O’Donnell as a “horrible human being” and a “loser.”
So... how did O'Donnell react to somehow being brought up in the setting of an actual debate between grown men who want to hold the highest office in the world?
Minutes after Trump's remark, Rosie sent out a simple Tweet that read: “Try explaining that 2 ur kids.”
It's a good, basic point... but come on.
Try explaining ANYTHING about Donald Trump to your kids.
You can start, of course, by hopefully telling them that most Mexican immigrants are not actually rapists.
