In early August, we posted Lady Gaga’s American Horror Story teaser—a seven second look into her character and role on the highly popular FX television series.
But now, with the American Horror Story: Hotel premiere around the corner, we are getting a more detailed look at Gaga’s role on the show!
Making her debut on this season of AHS, Gaga plays the Countess, a murderous and blood-droning hotel manager at the Hotel Cortez in Los Angeles (a fictional hotel).
Entertainment Weekly’s newest cover story features AHS co-creator Ryan Murphy, and he says Gaga was excited to be a part of the gory show.
"She showed up, and she was wearing diamond pasties, a Band-Aid on her boo-ha, heels and a black veil that Alexander McQueen made for her on the day before his death," Murphy tells Entertainment Weekly.
He adds, ”Then the crew gasped in delight, and we were off!"
The fifth season of the award-winning show features Gaga and a string of other guests and stars.
Matt Bomer plays Donovan, the Countess’ lover. Finn Wittrock is a hyper-sexual model who sparks the Countess’ interest. Kathy Bates plays Donovan’s mother and a front-desk secretary. And Sarah Paulson plays an addict named Hypodermic Sally.
For Gaga, joining the case of AHS is a dream come true because she has always wanted to be an actress.
"I always wanted to be an actress. I was terrible at auditioning. I would clam up. I was very awkward. I wasn't particularly pretty in high school. I was sort of … blooming. Now I'm here,” she reveals.
Rumor has it that Gaga is a natural, which isn’t surprising. In fact, a co-star says viewers should get ready for a killer performance:
"We've shot one scene together. She walked past me and literally had one line, and it just scared the s--- out of me," Bates says. "She's really throwing herself in this."
