"I’m excited," Carter tells the tabloid of the upcoming opportunity.

Carter, whose brother Aason competed on Season 9 of the ABC hit, says he actually consulted with Joey Fatone for advice on whether or not he ought to sign up.

"He talks about it all the time and I was really debating if I wanted to do it, and he said, ‘It’s a great experience, it keeps you in shape and it’ll teach you a lot of stuff,’" Carter says of his ‘N Sync friend’s words of wisdom.

"He said, ‘You’ll get what you put into it.’ And I’m a hard worker, so I think it’ll be fun."

The full list of celebrities and their partners will be revealed on September 2.
