Though fans were saddened to hear the June 30 announcement that Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck split, they have set a good example of what an amicable divorce looks like.
Tabloid speculation about Christine Ouzounian aside, the former couple promised to put their children first and to maintain a sense of normalcy for them.
Doing so, they often still wear their wedding rings, go on family outings, and even live on the same property.
But as the media and fans have unpacked the details of their relationship, allegations of Ben and the nanny rose to the surface of conversations.
Reasonably so, Jennifer has begun to question what life will look like post-Ben Affleck. And that also means rethinking their living situation.
A source close to the family told People Magazine, ”Jen will always make sure that Ben spends as much time with the kids as he wants, but she is rethinking their living situation.”
"She can't stand the situation Ben has put her and the kids in."
Ben has repeatedly denied the affair and "has been very unhappy with the attention and the unwarranted circus around it," another source told People.
While Garner is in Atlanta finishing filming Miracles from Heaven, Affleck returned to Los Angeles with their three children, Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3.
"Ben spent the whole weekend focused on the kids," a source says. "They all seemed to have a fun weekend. Ben took them on several outings and looked happy."
The kids will be starting school in a few weeks, and their home is still under renovation. So Garner and Affleck must make some big decisions about their family’s next step.
"They are thinking about the housing situation together and continue to work on the relationship," the second source says. "Any family going through a split hurts. They are in a much better place now."
Despite the living situation, Jennifer and Ben "are planning to raise their kids together.”
"[Jen] is being smart and not putting too much pressure on herself right now," said the source close to the family. "When she comes back to L.A., she will take things day by day."
