Former Gossip Girl star Kelly Rutherford finally reunited with her children over the weekend, having been granted temporary custody of the pair.
Rutherford and ex-husband Daniel Giersch have been battling over son Hermes, 8, and daughter Helena, 6, almost since the two were born.
After Kelly Rutherford won sole custody, she was seen outside her apartment in the afternoon of Friday, July 3 with the two adorable tots.
The actress and her kids also seemed "really happy" as they spent time together outside a restaurant Saturday, July 4, sources report.
Kelly won temporary sole custody of the kids in May, but the fight continues; Hermes and Helena will return to Monaco after the summer.
Rutherford and Giersch, who split up in 2010 after four years of marriage, did not split amicably, and he left the United States after that.
Giersch has refused to come back, and it was decided in December 2013 that he no longer had to pay for their children to visit the U.S.
"I know it’s not right. Parents know. Everyone knows it’s not right," Rutherford, who started a petition for her kids’ return earlier this year.
"I can sit here and tell you how often I cry," Kelly said at the time. "I can tell you how it feels to leave my kids in a foreign country."
"Not seeing them for weeks on end. Not being able to bring them from school, pick them up, dress them, hug them, smell them."
"My children, not only were they taken away, but to a foreign country. I don’t even know how you explain to someone what it feels like."
For the next few months, at least, she won’t have to.
