Last month, Josh Duggar was accused of sexually abusing his sisters and one other girl several times in 2002 and 2003.
Jessa and Jill Duggar have confirmed that they were molested by Josh, but his other victims have to come forward.
Now, Radar Online is reporting that earlier this month, a prison inmate named Joseph Uber filed a complaint against Josh and the Texas Department of Corrections claiming that he had been falsely convicted of crimes committed by Josh.
“I am illegally incarcerated for a sex crime of a minor," Uber claims in court documents. "I didn’t do it. Defendant Josh Duggar is responsible, and set me up.
“I spent five years incarcerated for a crime Josh Duggar did. Josh Duggar is a pedophile, not me. He planted my fingerprints on my victim...I have Josh Duggar’s DNA saved on underwear.”
Uber's claims get even more ridiculous from there:
“Josh Duggar molested the Slenderman girls in Wisconsin," he writes. "Josh Duggar threw Baby Jessica in my well. Josh Duggar hurt Chandra Levy. Josh Duggar was pen pals with Elizabeth Smart…Josh Duggar knows what happened to Jon Benet Ramsey.”
As you might expect, the complaints were dismissed just a few says after Uber filed them.
Uber's case is obviously an absurd one, but it's the sort of harassment that the Duggars can expect more of in the coming months.
Josh's actions and his parents' attempts to conceal them were reprehensible, but his victims and other younger siblings don't deserve to be subjected to further legal wrangling as a result of the high-profile case.
Many claim the negative attention that the family has attracted in recent weeks is all the more reason for TLC to cancel 19 Kids and Counting.
It remains to be seen what the network will do, but the unwanted attention from people like Uber is, sadly, likely to continue.
