Four years ago today, Kate Middleton married Prince William in a lavish royal ceremony that was enjoyed by hundreds of millions of television viewers all over the globe.

Today, the world may wind up looking on in equally rapt attention as several British tabloids are reporting that today’s the day that Kate has chosen to induce labor and bring a new royal into the world.

The Duchess never revealed her exact due date, but we know that Kate is overdue by as long as five days and doctors are reportedly encouraging her to consider inducement in the very near future.

Prince George also arrived several days late, so this is obviously a possibility for which Kate was prepared.

One insider claims that Kate jokingly stated that if she happened to stil bel pregnant on her anniversary date, she would choose that day to give the little prince or princess a bit of added encouragement.

There’s probably no truth to the rumor that Kate is favoring today because of its historical significance, but at this point, we can’t blame royal-watchers for grasping at straws.

Kate’s luxury hospital room has been set up for weeks, and the British press has been camped out ’round-the-clock.

Yesterday, the royal couple provided reporters with a breakfast of croissants and coffee, and they wound up taking flak for not serving up something more traditionally British like crumpets and coffee. Seriously.

Hurry up and pop the kid, Kate. Clearly, the world is losing its mind in anticipation!
