Well, that was awkward.

On a night where the American Idol Top 7 took to the stage for two tracks apiece, both considered "Classics" by show producers, what stood out was not so much the vocal abilities of those remaining.

But the back-and-forth Quentin Alexander and Harry Connick Jr.

The judge somehow found it "disrespectful" that Alexander (after being asked by Ryan Seacrest) said he was sad because two friends (Joey Cook and Rayvon Owen) were in the Bottom 2.

This prompted an actual showdown at the judges table and discomfort all around.

But, wait, American Idol is about the contestants and the music, right?

In that case, you should scroll through the video gallery above to relive a total of 14 covers of iconic artists such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Lenny Kravitz.

In the end, despite a strong take on Jefferson Airplane’s “Somebody to Love,” Joey Cook got the boot and Owen got saved (again).

Did voters make the right choice? Were you on #TeamHarry or #TeamQuentin during that awkward fight?
