A video of Sigma Alpha Epsilon members at the University of Oklahoma chanting racist remarks has sparked outcry, backlash and protests at the school.

Sigma Alpha Epsilon members on board a bus can be heard chanting that there will "never be a n—ger at SAE." Not a lot of ambiguity in that sentiment.

Portions of the disturbing chant also reportedly reference lynching.

The video was posted online Sunday by Unheard, an African-American student group at OU. Immediately, it went viral and caused a total uproar.

The fraternity’s national headquarters said that an investigation confirmed that it was local SAE members on the video, and apologized for their conduct.

School President David Boren, who joined hundreds of students at the Norman, Ok., campus in a Monday protest, has already cut ties with the fraternity.

"To those who have misused their free speech in such a reprehensible way, I have a message for you. You are disgraceful," Boren tweeted afterward.

"You have violated all that we stand for," Boren added in no uncertain terms, adding, "You should not have the privilege of calling yourself ‘Sooners.’"

He said the video could result in the expulsion of students and that he plans to set "an example to the entire country of how to deal with this issue."

"There must be zero tolerance for racism everywhere in our nation."

The school’s football team protested instead of practicing Monday and fraternity members were given until Tuesday night to clear out of the house.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said efforts by the university and the national fraternity to repudiate the video were "an appropriate step."

NBC News reported that a campus sorority, Delta Delta Delta, was under investigation for possible involvement of some of its members in the video.

At least one young woman can be seen in the shocking footage. The national office of the sorority said it was cooperating with the investigation.

Meanwhile, a new video surfaced of the SAE house mother chanting racial slurs (seriously), so who knows where this saga will end. Story developing …
