… just as Caroline left. Sort of. The Caroline we all know and love left, at least.
In reaction to her mother’s passing, the young Ms. Forbes organized a funeral and then switched off her humanity, snapping Elena’s neck in the process.
What will this new (and improved?) Caroline be up to when the series returns from a brief hiatus with The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 16 on Thursday, March 12? See for yourself:
NOTE: The title of the next all-new episode is "The Downward Spiral." So that may give us some hint at the direction in which Caroline is headed.
Creator Julie Plec, meanwhile, teased a few upcoming developments in a recent chat with The Hollywood Reporter, telling that outlet what we can expect toward the back end of The Vampire Diaries Season 6. Namely:
- Some backstory for Enzo.
- A possible wedding between Alaric and Jo.
- A "doozy of a storyline" for Elena and Damon.
- Bonnie having to come face to face with Kai.
- Stefan dealing with this humanity-free Caroline in an unexpected manner.

… and you can always ogle over the attractiveness of this cast.
