Birdman actress Naomi Watts tripped on Emma Stone’s dress while taking the stage at last night’s 2015 SAG Awards, but went on to make a full recovery.
Watts, Stone, Edward Norton, Amy Ryan, Michael Keaton, Zach Galifianakis were among the 2015 SAG Awards winners for their work on that movie.
The winners for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture (the SAG equivalent of Best Picture) shared the mic for their speech, per tradition.
Watts’ speech kicked off with quite the viral moment, however.
After Keaton addressed his peers, Watts shuffled to the mic as Stone simultaneously adjusted the elaborate train of her black silk chiffon Dior Couture gown.
Watts, who made quite the SAG Awards fashion statement herself in Balenciaga with a trim around her shoulders, fell over the back part of Stone’s dress.
A mortified Stone and her wide eyes (Big Eyes, if you will) said it all as Watts tripped and everyone looked very nervous and awkward for a second.
Fortunately, Naomi recovered and laughed it off onstage.
