Last month’s Colbert Report finale left a hole in our hearts (not to mention the Comedy Central late night schedule) that’s now been filled by former Daily Show correspondent Larry Wilmore.

Wilmore’s The Nightly Show premiered on Monday, and the 53-year-old comic is already making waves with his controversial take on current events.

Last night, Wilmore tackled the Bill Cosby rape scandal.

While most commentators on the topic have tread lightly and avoided rendering a verdict on a case that may never go to trial, Wilmore made no effort to conceal his belief that the Cos’ is as guilty as they come:

"Tonight we’re talking Bill Cosby," Wilmore began. "We’ll ask the question, ‘Did he do it?’ The answer will be yes."

"There’s a statute of limitations on the charges, but there’s no statute of limitations on my opinion, and I’m telling you that motherf–ker did it."

Wilmore addressed the charges in a more serious fashion later in the show, and discussed Cosby’s controversial decision to continue with his comedy tour, despite the fact that thousands of former fans believe Cosby belongs in jail.

"Regardless of whether he’s innocent or guilty, it seems in poor taste to continue his comedy tour," Wilmore stated. "The worst place to address these allegations is from a stage."

We’re sure hundreds of protesters and a few dozen alleged victims would agree. Check out Wilmore’s scathing discussion of the scandal in the video above.
