Hope Solo has been suspended by the U.S. Women’s soccer team after getting into an ugly argument with police as her husband was getting a DUI arrest.
Solo and Jerramy Stevens, a former NFL player whom she wed in 2012, were "acting belligerent" when Stevens was stopped by police on Monday.
In Manhattan Beach, Calif., Stevens and Hope Solo were both being "a major pain," according to officers, and soon enough, he was arrested for DUI.
Her conduct was enough to get her sidelined by the national team, too.
U.S. Soccer has issued a statement on the decision to suspend Hope:
"During our current national team camp, Hope made a poor decision that has resulted in a negative impact on U.S. Soccer and her teammates."
"We feel at this time it is best for her to step away from the team."
The 33-year-old Solo and Stevens have had a hard time avoiding headlines about alleged criminal activity dating back to before they were even married.
In 2012, he was arrested in a domestic disturbance involving Solo just before they tied the knot. Then Solo herself was arrested for violence herself.
She faced two counts of assault based on a claim that Hope Solo drunkenly attacked her half-sister and nephew, although the case was later dismissed.
Here’s a look at some of her surprisingly scandalous headlines:
