It’s finally here, Divergent fans.
The first official trailer for Insurgent has hit the Internet, as Shailene Woodley and company are back for the sequel to this blockbuster adventure.
In the following footage, we see Woodley’s Tris looking over a vast wasteland of destroyed building and sizzling flames.
We then see her mother (portrayed by Ashley Judd) calling out from inside a burning structure that rises off the ground and into the sky. Tris then flies around like Spider-Man to rescue her parent.
But… wait… isn’t Tris’ mother dead?!?
Yes, this appears to be some kind of dream sequence, though it still leaves us wildly excited for the Divergent sequel.
Simply put, "the world will never be the same," reads the above trailer.
Insurgent comes out on March 20, 2015 and includes new big names such as Naomi Watts and Octavia Spencer. Its story also may differ a bit from that of the book.
"You have to honor the material for the first film because you have a fan base, but when you come to the second one, if you you’ve done well with the first movie, you now have the ability to think outside the box," Theo James recently told E! News.
"And I think as long as you have good character progression – which is essentially Four and Tris, the anchors of the films – if you have that stuff right, then if you lose some kind of threads of different plotlines, it shouldn’t matter."
