Is The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards struggling with addiction again? According to her co-star and sister Kyle Richards ... maybe.
The two went to Palm Desert last weekend to work on their relationship, with Bravo cameras in tow obviously, and this did little to assuage Kyle's fears.
“Producers are finally getting the drama they wanted as filming winds down," a source says. “Kyle doesn’t want to believe that Kim has fallen off the wagon."
However, she (or the producers felt that she) "had to spend time with her to talk about it. Naturally, cameras from the show had to be there to document it.”
Now Kyle is even more worried about Kim's addiction, a familiar theme if you watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills online or read any gossip.
Says the insider:
“Let’s just say after the weekend was over, Kyle had even more concerns about Kim’s sobriety. There were tons of tears, and Kim got very defensive."
During a recent cast trip to Amsterdam, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast, led by Eileen Davidson, believed that Kim was under the influence.
“No one saw Kim drink or take any pills, but she did slightly slur her words during one of the initial outings on the trip,” a source previously said.
“Eileen was trying to stir things up behind the scenes, along with Yolanda [Foster], questioning Kim’s sobriety. Kim was extremely jet lagged and tired."
"It was a very long flight, and she hadn’t been sleeping. Look, Kim can be a bit of an airhead, so throw that in with no sleep, and she could seem out of sorts."
The source adds that “absolutely" Richards remains "committed to her sobriety" and in fact, "Kim is disgusted anyone would question it" over this.
“This has been a storyline in the show for a long time, and Kim is disgusted anyone, including the show’s producers would exploit it for ratings.”
She “wants to finish filming for the season, and stop being made to be the subject of yet another stupid storyline on the show. It’s old, tired and boring."
“She is completely over it,” the insider added, though not enough to quit the show, which returns next year with Lisa Rinna joining the cast as well as Davidson.
Also returning for the new season: Brandi Glanville, Lisa Vanderpump and Yolanda Foster. Out for this year are Carlton Gebbia and Joyce Giraud.
