With tribute pouring forth from Hollywood in light of Robin Williams’ death, Sarah Michelle Gellar has now spoken out and paid tribute to her late co-star.

The actress appeared opposite Williams in The Crazy Ones, which lasted for just one season on CBS, but that was plenty of time for Williams to leave an indelible impression on Gellar.

She initially responded to Williams’ shocking suicide with the following photo montage on Twitter – and then added the following quote to People:

“My life is a better place because I knew Robin Williams. To my children he was Uncle Robin, to everyone he worked with, he was the best boss anyone had ever known, and to me he was not just an inspiration but he was the Father I had always dreamed of having.

“There are not enough adjectives to describe the light he was, to anyone that ever had the pleasure to meet him. I will miss him everyday, but I know the memory of him will live on.

“And to his family, I thank them for letting us know him and seeing the joy they brought him. Us crazy ones love you.”

Williams reportedly hanged himself yesterday morning inside his Northern California home.

He battled an addiction to cocaine and alcohol in the early 1980s and checked himself back into rehab earlier this summer, presumably due to a relapse.

In the wake of her father’s passing, Zelda Williams left a heartfelt message on Twitter, while wife Susan Schneider bid farewell to a “beloved, beautiful human being” via statement last night.

We do the same here via a remembrance of Williams’ best roles:
