To say that Chris Pratt is an unexpected summer action star would be like saying the Ice Bucket Challenge is kind of a popular viral trend.

For years, Pratt was best known for playing the doofy, doughy lovable schlub Andy Dwyer on NBC’s Parks and Recreation. Pratt was perfectly cast in the role, and it seemed to be the kind of part he’d play for the rest of his career.

But then something incredible happened. Pratt lost a ton of weight, gained a ton of muscle, and became the Star Lord that saved the 2014 blockbuster season.

With stellar reviews and record-breaking box office, Guardians of the Galaxy is now a bonafide hit with a sequel sure to follow. So it’s safe to say Pratt will never have to live someplace like this again:

Yes, that’s a van with a Scooby Doo and Shaggy painted on the side and it served as Pratt’s home for a time in his early twenties.

While the thought of anyone living without a proper roof over their head is depressing, there are a few bright spots in this photo:

1. Chris was living in Maui, and we suppose there are worse places to be homeless.

2. In his hand is the script for his first major film role. The gig enabled him to move into a real apartment.

3. The van has Scooby Doo and Shaggy painted on the side which serves as all the verification we need that Chris Pratt has been awesome since well before he was famous.
