Sister Wives Season 5 Episode 8 Recap: Plural Marriage is a Beautiful Thing

by at .  Updated at .

On Sister Wives Season 5 Episode 8, we learned how much the Browns value their plural marriage in what was sort of a giant clip show about their lives.

In other words, when you watch Sister Wives online, you will be watching them watch home videos and baby photos projected on a sheet in the yard.

"Every Brown Revealed" was the episode's title, and while most if not all of the Browns were featured, not all that much was revealed to be honest.

Except one interesting topic: Meri Brown and Janelle Brown openly acknowledged that as Sister Wives go, their relationship could use some work.

It's amazing that the women aren't all hankering to punch Kody Brown sometimes, given that the guy is happily banging three other women.

Not to be crude, but that's what plural marriage entitles him to do, while they don't enjoy the same kind of variety and freedom. This is simply fact.

Whether you subscribe to the magical, spiritual nature of this union and their family structure or not, it's got to be awkward, yet the four wives are happy.

With him. Sometimes there is beef with one another, as we see with Meri and Janelle. They may love the same man, but it doesn't make them BFFs.

This was more obvious than ever as the wives were needling at Kody to take them on a cruise. Innocent fun and the sort of thing they kid about often.

Well, Meri joked that if she and Christine were to work on their relationship, then she would take a cruise with her without Kody even being there.

It was at that point that Kody suggested that well, now that you bring up the subject, Meri and Janelle were the ones who needed work. Crickets.

Sore subject much? When Meri joked about Christine, the mood was light. When he said that about Meri and Janelle, it became anything but.

In part, this is what adds to the appeal of Sister Wives. They are sticking this relationship out, even if there are moments they're not crazy about.

To think that the family would live in a constant state of peace would be ridiculous and rightfully dismissed. Kudos to them for being honest about it.

What do you think of Kody Brown and his wives?
