Edie Brickell had reportedly been drinking during her heated argument with Paul Simon last week, when police were called to the couple’s home in Connecticut.

In surprising news, singers Simon and Brickell were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after the domestic dispute and subsequent 911 call.

Brickell "strong odor of alcohol on her breath," according to police in New Canaan Conn., who say Brickell told them Simon did something that "broke her heart."

The police report says Simon shoved Brickell and she slapped him in response. That’s when he called 911, but quickly hung up before speaking to anyone.

That was enough to send officers to the duo’s property, however.

Brickell, 48, told police on the scene that Simon, 72, "was acting like a spoiled baby" by calling 911 on her "and that he did not care about their children."

The pair have been married for 20 years and have three kids.

The report states that Edie had "a strong odor of alcohol on her breath" and became agitated at times, though both parties eventually calmed down.

They were both in court this week and refused to get any kind of protective order against each other, while Paul told reporters that he still loves Edie.

All’s well that ends well?
