Miss Phaedra Parks, Real Housewives of Atlanta's resident "Southern Belle" declare in open court that she has never committed any fraud charges or run a criminal enterprise.
Parks filed an affidavit on March 31 in Gwinnett County suing Lies of a Real Housewife author Angela Stanton for defamation.
"“Due to the falsity of the material in the book, and to protect her reputation, on or about September 26, 2012, [Parks] filed a defamation action against [Stanton]," read the court documents.
The documents go on to say that Phaedra Parks claims she “verifies, under oath, that the allegations made by the Defendant in her Book and referenced in the Plaintiff’s Complaint are false,” and that Angela Stanton “knew the statements she made about the plaintiff were false when she made them.”
Stanton claims in her book that Parks was the mastermind behind the criminal enterprise which consisted of bank fraud, auto title theft, and racketeering for which her now-husband, Apollo Nida and Angela Stanton, spent time in jail.
Nida is currently facing new criminal charges for the same crimes and must make a plea deal by April 25th to avoid going back to jail.
Parks claims that she has never been involved in any criminal enterprise and the only crimes which she has committed are moving traffic violations.
“I have never been arrested for a crime or charged with any crime,” she states.
“I have never been questioned by any law enforcement agency about any possible involvement in a crime. I have never been involved in any criminal schemes with Defendant Stanton or anyone else. I have never committed any crime other than routine traffic violations.”
