John Pinette, a comedian best known for being the man who got mugged on the Seinfeld series finale, was found dead in his Pittsburgh hotel room today.
He was 50 years old.
The Allegheny County medical examiner's office says Pinette’s death took place around 2:30 PM and that foul play is not suspected.
According to news reports, Pinette's personal doctor says the star had been suffering from liver and heart disease prior to his passing.
He also checked into rehab for a prescription pill addiction last August.
Pinette had been working on a new stand-up project when he died, his agent confirms.
"He should be celebrated for the amazing comedian he was," Nick Nuciforo said.
We send our condolences to Pinette’s friends and family members.
