Teresa Giudice is probably going to jail.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star and her husband entered a plea of guilty this morning inside a Newark courtroom, agreeing to terms of a plea bargain in which Teresa could face under two years behind bars and Joe a minimum of three.
Details are still coming in, but TMZ reports Teresa copped to four counts (including conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bankruptcy fraud) and Joe to five (the same as his wife, plus failure to file tax returns).
The stars were originally indicted on a total of 41 criminal charges last year – yes, 41! – as a result of allegedly illegal actions that took place between 2001 and 2011.
Prosecutors believe the couple used phony pay stubs; doctored tax returns; and obtained nearly $5 million in mortgages via W2 forms that inflated their actual income.
The Giudices have also been accused of hiding assets after they filed for bankruptcy in 2009.
They will be sentenced at a later date and The Real Housewives of New Jersey star will undoubtedly try to paint herself as a victim in an impending statement.
(UPDATE: Giudice has taken responsibility and released a statement.)
If she actually does head to jail, we may need to add to this list of classic Teresa Giudice moments in order to include one of her getting finger-printed:
