Forget Lamar Odom the playa.
And let's talk Lamar Odom the player.
According to TMZ, Odom was scheduled to fly to New York City last night and meet with a number of NBA teams to sell himself on suiting up for them this season.
He even passed blood and urine tests to prove that he's now clean and sober and ready to be employed as a professional basketball player again.
Lamar reportedly canceled the trip at the last moment, but he does bring up the question: Is there any chance he'll play in the NBA again?
The former member of the Heat, Lakers, Mavericks and Clippers has compiled an impressive career resume - averaging 13.3 points per game and 8.4 rebounds - but he's also been suspended twice on drug-related violations.
Then again, all of this becomes irrelevant hearsay if Odom passes new drug tests and if a team is in need of a small forward who can handle the ball and play inside.
Will a team be willing to take a chance on Lamar? This is the same league that pays millions of dollars per year to Kris Humphries, so anything is possible.
What do you think? Will Lamar Odom play in the NBA again?
