On Friday morning, firefighters in Framingham, Massachusetts responded to calls about a woman vomiting at a Red Roof Inn and arrived to a disturbing scene:

A woman and at least six Maltese dogs, living in a room full of urine and feces.

According to authorities, the unnamed female was in her 60s and had been renting the room for three years. She was transported by the police to MetroWest Medical Center.

A Framingham Board of Health agent was also called to the scene due to "unbearable living conditions," while Animal Control is now in control of the dogs.

An investigation is ongoing and legal action – against the woman and/or the hotel – may eventually be taken because Massachusetts law prohibits the abuse and neglect of animals. It was clear, an office told the front desk clerk, that the pets had not been let out in weeks.

In even more disturbing pet news, a woman in St. Louis was arrested after burning a dog and bragging about the act on Facebook.
